Own Words

Well this is the first time doing something like this. Guess i can start about my identity. and just ramble on to whatever comes to my mind. I have Italian, Polish, and Korean in my blood. My birth mother is Full Korean and my father would be the Italian and Polish side.
I never really knew much about Korean culture until recently. I was a huge japan culture fan because i lived there for 6 years. I live in South Korea at the current moment. The only reason I am here is because I'm in the Air Force. I have always wanted to come here. I got to say i LOVE it here. The food is amazing, the Korean people are nice, and its a beautiful country.
I grew up not knowing my Birth mother, i think i knew her till i was 3 before my parents got into a divorce. I was told she couldn't handle the culture shock coming to America or she thought my Grandmother didn't accept her. Hangul was actually my first language
, but due to the lack of using i forgot it. I actually took two Hangul classes since ive been in Korea. i know very little i would like to keep studying and learn more. Anyways im currently looking for my mother right now. Apparently she sent a letter to my dad back in 2001 so i went to the send back address. She doesn't live there anymore it seems. I have very little information so it might make it hard to find her. I have like her old address, Birth date, few pictures, and her marriage date to my father. Not much to go off of right? I was actually told to go to the Korean police and they might be able to look her on the Korean registry which my Korean friend is going to help me with.

I actually wanna live in Korea for the rest of my life, but I have complications due to being in the military. I got here in August 2011 and should be leaving February 2013.

Currently I don't have many Korean friends. Maybe like three, but I do have a lot of Korean co-workers. I absolutely love them, they take care of me, which really surprises me. I was told the older generation wouldn't like me as much being half Korean, but they teach me Korean and make me Korean food at work everyday, they say I'm very smart.

I was a military brat, I faintly remember being really young and being in Korea, but afterwards I grew up 6-7 years in Japan then afterwards in Las Vegas. I claim Las Vegas as home since I went to middle and high school there and lived there the longest in my life. Growing up, I lived with my father and many mothers (step mothers). I don't know my birth mother because my father got a divorce with her when I was 3. As I was saying, my dad got remarried 3 more times throughout my life. His second marriage was his high school sweet heart, which went psycho after have her own kids and had thoughts about killing me. Weird, right? His third marriage was another psycho who was really abusive which tore me and my father apart. This went on for maybe 4 years. I started to resent my father, wondering why he would let her do the things she did to me. Even long after his divorce into his current marriage, I wasn't close to him, I would be constantly living with my other Asian friends.

On a lighter note, a little about me. I love watching movies, any kind really. I love Korean dramas, if you know any good one please tell me about some. I like to go out to clubs and dance even though I'm a horrible dancer. When I move back to Korea I would like to be a doctor/nurse or an English teacher. I would really like to be fluent in Hangul somewhat. My dream is to live in Korea and have a family.
